ABOUT STARS FRONT CIDER
Born of Heritage. Built with Grit. Always Forward.
Stars Front Cider began as a dream — one that took shape during a visit to Courthouse Creek Cider in Richmond, Virginia. That day, John Jenkins turned to his wife, Jennifer, and said:
“This is what I want to do.”

What followed was a years-long pursuit of mastery. John took his first hands-on workshop at Distillery Lane Ciderworks in Jefferson, Maryland, followed by advanced training through the Cider Institute of North America. He deepened his expertise with the Business of Craft Brewing program at the University of Richmond — all while refining cider blends that would go on to earn national acclaim.
Over the next few years, John's ciders earned multiple medals in the non-commercial divisions of the National Homebrew Competition and the prestigious Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition (GLINTCAP) — widely regarded as the largest cider competition in the world. The recipes used at Stars Front today are rooted in those award-winning foundations.

None of it would be possible without Jennifer Jenkins — artist, educator, and co-owner — whose creativity and belief in the vision made Stars Front more than a brand. It made it a mission. John and Jennifer have been married since 2012 and are proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Zoey and Nora - the true stars behind Stars Front.

Stars Front Cider is proudly veteran-owned, operating under a contract cider agreement with our friends at Walsh Family Wine. John is a U.S. Army combat veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for valor in combat — honors that reflect the same grit and discipline he brings to the craft today.
